Biography

Dr. Daniel Smeak is a professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences and chief of surgery for the Dental and Oral Surgery Sections at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Smeak’s specialty is small animal surgery. He has received several awards, including CSU’s Referral Vet of the Year, and he is the three-time recipient of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association’s Norden Distinguished Teaching Award. Smeak studied at Michigan State University, earning his B.S. in 1976 and his D.V.M. in 1979. He holds an honorary Ph.D. from Helsinki University.
