Biography

Jo graduated from Bristol University in 1994 and completed a clinical fellowship in anaesthesia at Bristol before undertaking a PhD investigating neurophysiological correlates of pain in horses, also at Bristol, which she was awarded in 2001. In 2001 she moved to University Utrecht as head of small animal anaesthesia and was awarded her European Diploma in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia in 2002. After a brief two year period in New Zealand as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow between 2005-2007 Jo returned to the University of Bristol as a Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Anaesthesia where she divides her time between clinics, teaching and research. Jo is a member of the WCVA Global Pain Council and is passionate about providing best practice in analgesia to cats and dogs.
